For your birthday, Facebook promotes Fundraisers, an option to create a fundraiser for a cause. In honor of your birthday, consider selecting Wilderness Camping and Retreat Center as your non-profit of choice. All proceeds directly benefit Wilderness! You can easily create a fundraiser for Wilderness by clicking the button below!
Tips for the Facebook Fundraiser
1. Rather than using the default "About" section, share your Wilderness story!
2. Use a photo of you at Wilderness.
3. Send personalized invites to family and friends.
4. Share updates on Facebook as to the progress of the fundraiser.
5. Propose a recommended share amount (i.e. $5 per Facebook friend so we can raise $5,000).
If you have any questions about Fundraisers on Facebook or how to best do this to support Wilderness, please let us know!
Wilderness values you and your support. Wilderness Camping and Retreat Association (WCRA) relies on donations to preserve and maintain our camping and retreat facilities, to sponsor youth camps, to promote nature care, and to provide quality experiences. The WCRA is a 501(c)3 organization. Whether it’s an annual gift, a one-time donation, planned giving or in-kind gifts, all are appreciated and are fully tax-deductible.
You can send your donations and pledges to:
Wilderness Camping and Retreat Association | 34030 West 204th Street | Lawson, MO 64062
Honor others' birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions through the new Wonders of Wilderness (WOW) calendar. For a $100 donation to Wilderness, you may adopt a day of recognition for that special person. The person's name will be displayed at camp and on the Wilderness Facebook page on the selected day.
You shop. Amazon gives. Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service.
Everyone has the opportunity to leave a legacy through planned giving, a special gift that will ensure the financial stability of Wilderness, making it available for future generations. What legacy do you want to leave?
Planned gifts are arranged in the present to create benefits at a later date. These gifts can provide tax benefits now while providing future support for Wilderness. A variety of vehicles, such as trusts/will, stocks/bonds/mutual funds, insurance policies, real estate/personal property, retirement accounts, exist for making a planned gift.
Donors are encouraged to seek the advice of an attorney, financial advisor, or tax professional when considering a planned gift.
For more information about planning your gift to Wilderness, please contact the WCRA Treasurer, Paul McNeil, EA, at 816.580.4092. If you have already included Wilderness in your estate plan, please let us know; we would like the opportunity to express our thanks to you!
You can support Wilderness with in-kind gifts. Please contact Site Director Bo Tucker for our most current list of needs.
